Every November Ray Abell of Nishikigoi of Niigata harvests the koi in his 3 mud ponds. Ray imports high-grade koi from Japan and in the spring, stocks his mud ponds with the koi, to be one with nature. The koi experience incredible growth. Most spectacular are the large koi harvested from Pond 3. For this harvest, Ray allowed me to get quite close, to get some great shots of the massive koi. It is a wonderful event, that I’ve been attending for many years.
